Focused on neglected, minority, unfortunate, oppressed community, those community children, women, helpless old people, handicapped, conflict or disaster influenced people or community with in any geographical area in Nepal.
Mr.Toru Kondo is a Japanese citizen, he first came to Nepal from the Japanese Government as Horticulture specialist. He contributed vital role in developing Horticulture and vegetable farming. He was also involved in Nepal Agriculture Department from 1976 to 1990 AD. After his retirement from Japanese government service, Kondo devoted himself to serve the people of Nepal he used to live in remote district Mustang, where people were suffering from poverty, illiteracy and deficiency of consciousness and lack of health service. He established an Association (MDSA) as INGO in his own chairmanship and started to provide scholarship to the residence of Mustang and their children and also ran a school. He also established hospital in remote areas to provide health facilities, change the process of farming using advance technology and started consciousness rising in order to promote better lifestyle. For the program, till 2013 he contributes all his private property of Japan and donation collected from the people of Japan. In the end of 2013 he got was (93 yrs.) old, and MDSA couldn’t run in his chairmanship, so MDSA was closed according to the law.
MDSA was founded from the consciousness of great open hearted Toru Kondo, so to make continuity of social contribution as MDSA has given; this ‘Kondo Foundation’ is established by Kondo’s motivation and agreement. In this foundation, there is a chair person: Apar Khadka who helped in every activity conducted by Kondo in 25 years. People helped Kondo directly or indirectly after coming to Nepal in every activity and got involved. Those some people are the executive members and founders of this foundation.
Having 9 executive members, this foundation aims to give continuity the program conducted by Kondo in Mustang and run this program in different region of Nepal. Its main focus program are: Primary Health Science, Formal and Informal Education Program, Training in agriculture and advance development in agriculture, different income related program, to help orphans and old people, program for clean environment, program for social welfare and research etc.
